Hi.

I installed DNN in a shared hosting, but they say I can not assign my database user to the db_owner role, I have fight with them but with no results.

I'm having problems with the blog, I get this message: "View_Blog is not available", and I think it's because of the database user. How can I configure the database user permissions if I cannot assign it to db_owner role?

Thanks in advance

make sure, that your database user has full permission to create, edit and delete objects as well as select, add, delete, update data, this should be sufficient.

regarding blog module: if you haven't been able to use it yet, simply uninstall and reinstall (using latest version from dnnblog.codeplex.com

Hi Sebastian, thanks for the answer.

I checked the database user permissions, and it can create, edit and delete objects as well as select, add, delete and update data. I reinstalled the module too, but the problem continues, I get this error:

HA OCURRIDO UN ERROR.
ERROR: View_Blog NO ESTÁ DISPONIBLE EN ESTE MOMENTO.

Transalated its something lilke this: AN ERROR HAS OCURRED. ERROR: View_Blog is not available at this moment.

And the error is the same for Blog_List, New_Blog, Search_Blog, Blog_Archive

Thanks!

there might also be an issue in file system permissions. please review associated error in Admin :: Event Viewer module.

Hi Sebastian. I saw the error in the event viewer:

"The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'Blog_GetSettings'", but I can execute this procedure from the sql server management studio with the same user.

There is something strange when I try to assign the execute permissions: I got no error, and all seems to be OK, but if I right click on the stored procedure and look the permissions, my user doesn`t have the execute permissions, and, as I said before, the user can execute the sp in the query window

Definitely the problem its with permissions in the database but I don`t know how can i fix it.

Any ideas?

Thanks again!
