Hi All,

I have recently converted from using Joomla to Dotnetnuke...good lord is it different!

I had GoDaddy install Dotnetnuke 4.9 for me and it seems to be working just fine. I am able to add modules, create pages, etc without any problems.

My questions is: How do I add dotnetnuke to Visual Studio 2008 on my computer so I can edit code?

I downloaded and installed the starter kit. I know in VS 2008, I can go to File, new website, check dotnetnuke web application . I can then select FTP from the location. Do I simply in ftp://mydomainname.com/dnn and leave the language at Visual Basic?

Am I doing this correctly?? Please advise.

To develop modules and skin, use a local installation of DotNetNuke, this will allow you to debug and test properly. When you finished your extension, there is a packaging support for modules or manually zip Skins and upload Zip files using the module/Skin installers.

You should stand away from modifying framework or existing modules source code - this will make upgrades very difficult.

if you want to enhance modules, create your own copy, modify and package as described before, Check out module development tutorials at dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com.
