Hi,

I've never used DNN and have some questions.

Is DNN multicompany? we provide services for many customer companies. Each company has its own users and his own "roles".

The user has the possibility to organize his own workspace add/removing "portlets"?

Thank you in advance.

Alberto

DNN supports "multi portal" installations, where each portal has its own domain address, separate content, user base and administration.

There are 3rd party modules for users to create their personal pages, check out www.snowcovered.com

I'm not 100% sure on what you're thinking of when you say "multi-company".  A single DNN installation has the ability to provide separate websites with seaparate lists of users, security roles, pages, content, layout, skins, unique domain names, etc.  On the positive side, this means you can run many, many different websites using just one installation of DNN and just one database.  On the negative side, this means that all of your data for all your websites and users is mixed together meaning you will have a tougher time enforcing data security and you run the risk that a problem on one website has the potential to bring all of the websites down.

Within a website (a "portal" in DNN terms), a website owner can add and arrange pages, manage users for that website and add content and functionality by adding "modules" to pages.  Examples of "modules" include lists of links, calendars, photo galleries, blogs, forums, etc.  DNN already comes equipped with many different modules plus there are thousands (!) available for free or for purchase on the web.

A DNN website (portal) owner can apply different "skins" to give the site a different look and/or layout.  Similarly, individual modules can be assigned different "container skins" so you end up with limitless possibilities for creating a custom look for a website.
