We created a site using Dotnetnuke. We decided on the name for the site and it appears correctly when we search for the site on google, but the description doesn't. I want a short description to appear underneath the site name.

Where do I enter and manage the description?

Thanks for the reply.

I went to site settings and entered the site name (at title) and the site description (at description) that we want.

I updated the changed settings, but the changes doesn't want to appear when we search for the site on google.

Is there something that we need to submit to the search engins (Google,MSN & Yahoo) or is there maybe more settings that we need to apply?

Please be aware that it may take up to a few days, until Google bot revisited your site and information is updated.

Ok

At site settings there is "Site Marketing". If we submit our site with Google, Yahoo and MSN, do they use the "Site Settings - Site Details" from Dotnetnuke to update there index?

Or do their search engins just take random information from the site to show when results are shown from a site search.

One of our suppliers used Dotnetnuke to create their site. I searched for their site using Google, MSN & Yahoo.

The site name (top description) (not the url) appeared the same with all three, but the description underneath the site name was different everytime. It seemed as if the search engines took information from the home page and used it for the description underneath the site name.

The site name doesn't seem to be a problem, but can the description underneath the site name be controlled by us in a way or only by the search engines?
