I have develop a custyom module and it works fine if I have code file (vb) with it. When I complie it and create a dll and putit into the bin directory and try to run my module it give me a the following error:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The file module.ascx.vb' does not exist. --->

how do I get my module to run from the dl and not from the vb file?  I have set debug=false in my web.config file.  I have created and install a install package with not errors.  I just can't get my modules to run from the dll?

Thanks for the help,

Steve

You will need to be sure that you are setting up the project as a WAP project, so that it compiles and deploys with the DLL only.

Thanks for the information Mitch.  Do you setup the module WAP or DNN website?  Is there any documentation on this?

I was having the same dificulty (and was using the WAP method) until I saw a post saying that if your project files are actually located within the DesktopModules folder, then you will need to remove the CodeFile (or CodeBehind) attribute from the <% Page %> element in your ascx file.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for the information.  I tried to remove the CodeBehind and it didn't work.  Can you direct me to the article you saw with this issue?

Thanks,

Steve Ashley
