Many Dot Net Nuke sites (including www.dotnetnuke.com) have some issues with the newly released Internet Explorer 8.

Here is a server side fix!:

This is one of the adjustments, suggested by Microsoft (I published it for our community a few months ago). Be aware, that the meta tag needs to be the first one and backup the changed page, as it will be overwritten on DNN framework upgrades.

Thanks for the info!  Is the back up/overwrite on framework update concern only a concern because it needs to be at the top of the meta tags, or are all meta tags, links, etc., placed in the default.aspx header overwritten on a framework update?

Default.aspx is overwritten. Meta tags placed in Admin/SiteSettings or on a page by page basis in page settings are preserved as they are actually stored in the database. As some things may change on a version by version basis to default.aspx its probably best to reapply your change after a upgrade.
