 Hello everyone,

This might be a pretty stupid question but I'm having trouble deleting a document module which was inserted by someone else. I've managed to insert a web clone of the document, but can't delete the original entry.

The address is: https://www.pretenderscricket.com

Under the HOME pop-down menu, there are two Club Rules entries. The first one is a link to the document which I've now deleted, and the second one is the web clone of the same document. How do I delete the link that points to the document? I've tried everything.

I'll appreciate any help in this regard.

Peace

any item in the menu is a page. if you want to delete a page, which is forwarding to a different location, you need to use "Pages" in admin module. this allows to enter settings and delete eny entry in the nested list box.

Btw, I get a warning about the certificate or your site, when trying to access it.

Thanks so much Sebastian.

I think you might be getting the certificate warning because I turned off authentication. I recall that when I did, it significantly increased the website loading time. Until then, you would see a blank page for about 30 seconds or more before the website loaded.

I've also made a somewhat stupid mistake which is hindering me from logging onto the website now. While editing the site settings last night, I changed the login page to "Match Reports" page, as I often learn by checking what each feature does. However, this morning when I clicked login, it takes me to the "Match Reports" page without any field for username and password, and thus I can't log onto the website.  Any ideas?

you need to edit your database directly, using a tool like SQL Server Management Studio (Express):

In table "Portals" you need to replace the numeric value inside "loginTab" column with Null.

Unfortunately I do not possess the file backup on my computer. I was looking through the file list on the hosting website and can't determine the database file. I've downloaded and installed SQL Server Management (Express). Under "Admin", I found a folder called "Portal" which contains the following files: portal.template.xsd, portal.template.xsx, portalalias.ascx, portalalias.ascx.vb, portals.ascx, and portals ascx.vb. I've looked through and searched through all of these for "logintab" but that yielded no results.

The only file called database.mdf is located in the App_Data folder. Sorry about the n00bness in regards to this. Until now, all the editing I've done is through the portal.

Is there a way to connect to the remote database using SQL Server Management Studio? I've tried logging onto the host but I'm getting the following message.

Cannot connect to http://www.pretenderscricket.com.

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.  When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 53)
