To speed up a site, how often does it need to be accessed?

Thanks,

Steven

it depends on the app recycle settings for the IIS application pool.

By default it is recycled after 20 minutes of inactivity.

Maybe you should think in different way, one of the steps to speed up a site is to keep your site "alive" I believe there are a lot of posts explaining about "keep alive". And so the question will be like this "how to make my site keep running alive" that will come up with some answers. One the the answers might using 3rd party software that will keep your site alive and  you can get it free. Remember that using technique above is speed up at first load of your site, not speed up accessing your site pages, that would be differenf issue. Actually there is built in KeepAlive.aspx to control your site alive  but if anything goes wrong, your browser won't keep reloading it. Correct me if I'm wrong :)
