It appears my site has been hacked.  The default.aspx file was removed and an index.html put in place that linked to a virus.  I have removed the index.html file but how can I recreate the default.aspx file?  I have been trying to work with my ASP but they are almost useless.  I've asked them to restore this file but with no luck over the last 3 days.  I am hopefull the rest of the site is there still.

Roger,

you can restore file from original zip, you need, however, to know the DotNetNuke version used. If you don't remember, download /bin/dotnetnuke.dll to your local desktop and rightclick for the version.

If you are running a version prior to DNN 4.9.4, I strongly suggest to upgrade for security reasons.

Thank you.

I've determined I am running version 4.5.3.0

I do not have the zip file as my isp installed it.  I am serching the web for a file to download.  I would like to upgrade ASAP but I am unsure how to do this.  Any advice would be great.  I can't really depend on my ISP.

I've got our site running again.  It is at version 4.5.3.  Any advice on how to update to latest version would be great.  Please note I am not well versed in DotNetNuke or websites in general.  Also, any advise on stopping attacks that can cause our default.aspx to be altered would be most helpful.

I suggest to upgrade in 2 steps via 4.7.0, you may follow this check list. The first step requires to modify your web.config, in the second, the installer will do it for you.
