I want to add some more info to the user profiles on my dnn site, e.g. some address field, phone number etc.

What im thinking is that i need to add some columns to the users table in the database and to add these fields to the signup page, user edit page, and whatever other places you can view user profile info.

Also i will have to tell the user controls to also add my new fields to the database when adding new users or editing existing ones.

I feel a bit lost amongs the Admin/Security files and the Portal/signup files and the fact that the UserEditor seems to be a dnn control which i cannot find.

Maybe someone can help me understand the process of creating or editing a user? Some questions that comes to mind... Which files are involved? When is the database queried? and Where can i read about this?

You can add more information to user by Add Profile Property Definition. You can find Admin > User Accounts >Manage Profile Properties > Add Profile Property Definition
