Hi,

 I am using 4.9.4

I am trying to configure SSL for my site.

I went to Admin --> Site Settings --> Advanced Settings --> SSL

Enabled SSLEnabled and SSL Enforced and clicked "Update"

Then immediately the browser is redirected to

https://mydomain/Admin/SiteSettings/tabid/39/language/en-US/Default.aspx

and I cannot access any page in Admin or Host menu..Other pages are fine.

Please help

I went to dnn_tabs and set the IsSecure to FALSE for Admin and Host tabs..so now they are not forced to SSL.

Next I went to Admin-Pages->Selected Login Page and marked it as Secure.

Now I can longer access the Login Page.

Anyone successfully configured SSL for DNN 4.9.4  ?

Yes, I've done this and although I did have a problem at first it was only due to the setup of the security certificate.

Have you checked that the security certificate and IIS have been setup correctly?

Here are the steps I followed

1)Created the Certificate request from my local machine

2) Got the certificate from RapidSSL

3) On the hosting server, I started MMC and open Certificates snapin. Then Imported into Personal Certificates.

4) Opened IIS Manager, went to my website, right click Properties-->Directory Security-->Server certificates

5) Selected Existing certificate option and selected my new certificate

Do you think, me not creating the certificate request on the server could be a reason, though IIS has an option on using an existing certificate.

In any case, I have recreated the certificate request this time on the server and sent it to RapidSSL asking if they can cancel my original cert and recreate another one.

OK..I got this working with the following steps

in Web.config, replaced all 1.1 with 3.5.0.0 version extensions

deleted system.web.extensions from bin

1)Create a certificate service request in IIS

2) Sent the request to RapidSSL

3) Got the new certificate

4) Went to IIS Admin --->Website-->Properties--->DirectorySecurity-

Clicked certificates and completed the existing request. I can view the cerificate and it shows properly

5) In Site settings, enable SSL, enabled SSL Enforcing

6) In Login and UserAccount pages, checked the "Secure" checkbox.

Make sure port "443" is open in your firewal..In my case, the port was closed by default and when I opened the port, it all started working.

Thanks..to all who responded

Now I have a different issue..everytime Login page is displayed, I get this error page, "This page contains both secure and non-secure".

I think I will have to see if there are any http references
