i posted my question to 2 different areas and received 200 views and ZERO replies! - first time THAT has ever happened to me. makes me wonder if this issue is unsolvable.

all i'm trying to do is maintain the scroll position on postback of my page. my page has 4 XML modules. each module grabs 5 records and displays them using an xslt transformation. the top two are fine but the bottom two require the user to scroll down a bit. when they refresh the data on either of these.....they are always returned to the top of the screen.

i set the "MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback" = true in my web.config but it didn't do anything.

why?

how can i fix this?

Hey James,

I don't know that I have a proper answer for you, but I can clarify that the property in the web.config really acts as a default, but any custom logic in DNN itself or any modules could possibly override the functionality or mess with the final outcome. Maybe the XML module has some logic in it to mess with scroll position? Maybe something else on the page or even DNN itself?

Some questions to help provide some background/foundation for everyone: Do you have any other modules on the page aside from the XML modules? What version of DNN are you running? What version of the XML module?

To answer your final question though, yes - you can fix this - it might just take a good bit of effort. Fine tuning your web site (the last 10%) always seems to take forever!

Take care,

Ian

the 4 xml modules don't mess with scroll position. they query a database for data and use xsl transformations to present the data in neat little boxes.

i'm running DNN 4.9

i'm not certain the version of the XML modules. actually, they aren't dnn "modules" - they are 3rd party (ASPDotNetStoreFront) xml packages. but i can see all of their code and nothing affects scroll position.
