DNN 5.01.01

I'm not able to get a portal Admin, registered users, members of a custom Security Role, nor specifically set users to be able to upload/move/rename/delete files in the File Manager module. This is whether it is the Admin -> File Manager module or a custom page with the File Manager module added to it. I've manipulated permissions for the page, the File Manager module, and the folder displayed within the File Manager module to no avail.

Only the Host user is able to use all of the File Manager module features. For all other users, including Admin users, the File Manager icons are greyed out.

I've viewed issue DNN-9899 which seems to reflect my issue and is listed as fixed in version 5.1.0.364 Beta 3 but I'm clearly still having the issue.

in filemanager you need to be in edit mode.

Besides. it has been reported today, that there are issues accessing files, if write permissions are not granted for parent folders up to the root.

Sebastian,

as far as I have seen, the write permissions are not necessary in the root itself, but in any path down to the desired folder.

the created issue is here:

Thank you! Somehow, I had not come across that information elsewhere. Is it documented somewhere that I am apparently overlooking?
