I have read in other threads that to remove the DNN copyright footer from the portal you go into host settings and uncheck show copyright credits. i have done this and the copyright footer still remains.

Is there something im missing? also i would like to not just remove it but change whats on there, how do i do this?

the option hides the DNN copyright, besides there is portal copyright string, you may edit in site settings to suit your needs.

The copyright information comes from the [COPYRIGHT] token in your skin. It pulls from the Site Setting controlled by the site administrator. You can edit this setting to change what is pulled onto your site, but if you completely remove the text from this setting, your site will pull from localized text which combines the Portal Title and the current year.

To completely remove it from your skin, you'd need to delete this line of code from the skin ASCX file. Hope this provides some more clarification.

Hi, I've tried to login to my DNN site then go to [Admin] > [Site Settings], and edit the text area at the [Copyright] area; however, after I clicked [Update] everything stays the same and nothing has been updated. Am I doing it wrong?

Thanks!

The Copyright value (from Admin, Site Settings) is displayed if the SKIN includes the Copyright token. The DNN Copyright content (from Host, Host Settings, Appearance) is commented code in the HTML of the pages (near the top of the pages).

If you want to remove the copyright footer in your pages, you need to modify the skin's ASCX file and remove the copyright entry or choose a skin that does NOT display the copyright token.

If you want to simply not display the copyright token at the bottom for an individual site, enter a space in the copyright field (Admin, Site Settings).

If you consider the Copyright token as a footer for each page of the site, it becomes much more useful (for instance, mailing address and phone number at the bottom of each page).
