I'm using "private registration"

A user registers with the site - after providing credentials and clicking the 'register button',the user is greeted with this message...

An e-mail with your details has been sent to the portal administrator for verification. Once your registration has been approved an e-mail will be sent to your e-mail address:

Underneath that message is a link, "proceed to login".

Clicking it takes me back to the home page.

So I tried creating a login page of my own - Log in as host or admin, create the page, grant 'view page' permissions to all users, and add the "account login" module.

Now I go to site settings (in the admin menu)  - choose my new login page as the login page defined under advanced settings - click the update button to save changes.

Now logout and try registering a new user.

Click the 'proceed to login' link and it STILL takes you to the home page of the site.

I've googled this excessively and can't find any wisdom out there.

I tried searching gemini too - and found nothing.

Does anyone have any idea how I get the "proceed to login" button to take the poor user to a login facility - my page or the built in one?
