DNN 05.00.01 – New Installation

When I log in as admin or host the icons near the top of the page appear in the dropdown beside where it states “DotNetNuke® Community Edition”

For example: When I right click on the icon for “Edit Text” and go to properties the following path appears: http://localhost:####/site1/Images/edit.gif

However, all of the icons in the menu only display an X inside a box.  When I right click on the icon for “Host > Host Settings” and go to properties the following path appears:  http://localhost:####/site1/images//icon_hostsettings_16px.gif

There are two slashes after images in “Host > Host Settings” verses the one slash in “Edit Text”.  Both the Admin and Host menus have two slashes.  I am assuming there should only be one slash in both image paths.

Please advise: How do I eliminate the second slash so the icons load?

Thank you.

Hi MAJB,

As far as I recall, this was a bug present in 5.0, thought to have been corrected in 5.0.1, and then finally actually corrected in 5.1.  The (final) relevant work item is located here.

Your best remedy for the issue is to upgrade your installation to 5.1.2, which should resolve your issue (and many others!).

Hope this helps!

Brandon

Thank you Brandon,

The upgrade works like a charm.

Spoke too soon…

On my localhost I have DNN in a folder “site1”
When I load the localhost site into my browser everything icon/image related works fine.

After my upgrade to 05.01.02 - I FTPd the files to my remote server. Now all of the icons in the menu load, but the images at the bottom of the home page in the Sponsor Section don’t load. The image properties show the image path as being: http://www.eadex.com/site1/Portals/0/aspnet.gif

However, when I log in as Admin or Host the images at the bottom of the home page in the Sponsor Section load.

Also, I logged in as host and temporarily deleted the localhost/site1 alias and cleared my cache/temp files - there was no change on my remote server.

Summary:
Using my browser: Not logged in on my remote server – no images in sponsor section load.
Using my browser: Logged in as admin or host on my remote server –images in sponsor section do appear.

Please advise where I should be looking for. Keep in mind I’m new at DNN and the skill level of the code therein.

Thank you
Mike
