Hi
I have a website www.mydomain.com

I have customers from all over the world.

I need to show different content to people depending on their country but I don't want to have a mydomain.co.uk domain to do so - I wish to just have the one mydomain.com.

Now I know DNN has localisation.... but

Can I have something that auto-detects a browser country and language and then displays only modules or pages (or both!) that are in the correct country & language?

I also will have flags so a user can change.... and the default will be USA.... but auto detect is my preferred option...

Please help.

I know this maybe belongs in localisation.... but it is a bit more than that...

also, would I be better off finding a script that does this and not use dnn?

saw this at msdn....

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.globalization.cultureinfo(VS.71).aspx

basically uses the culture info.

Am I wrong to assume that DNN is using this neat piece of info?

you may enable browser language detection in DNN (admin :: languages), regarding country, there is an IP based lookup built is used by the countrylistbox, you may use to create your own redirect module for the landing page.

Great

Thanks

So DNN has built in language detection... that is good

i'll have a dig around for this country list for IP detection (I had seen some website offering this)

Then I guess I need to create some custom code to redirect....... would have liked to just have different modules on same page.. but I think i am going to have to go for a "www.mydomain.com/gb" type solution - i.e use child portals if location is not = to my default... or not found...

Anyone have any code that might be useful for this?

Thanks.
