We are using the dnn 04.09.05 and when a user searches articles it views fine in Firefox, but in IE the links are too big. You can see what I mean here http://www.sandhillsexpress.com/SearchResults/tabid/37/Default.aspx?Search=broken+bow Just make sure you are using IE to view it. If you want to know how it should look, use FF. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks,

This isn't really a search issue, but a Skin issue. To get the best results across all browsers your skins should use the XHTML Transitional 1.0 doctype, your skin doesn't have a doctype defined.

If you're on DNN5 you can set the default doctype in the host settings. Otherwise you need to add the doctype files to your skin package.

Hi,

I have a similar issue, but I think one cannot just set the doctype, it must reflect what the skin actually implements. For best rendering of some modules I would like to set the doctype to xhtml transitional, but the orignal skin comes with html 4.0 transitional and if I force in the host settings the whole skin will not show up correctly.
I was suggested to use an iframe for that module, but I'd like to find a cleaner solution, if possible.

Any suggestion on this? How to 'migrate' a skin to the desired doctype?

Thanks,

Franco
