I'm wondering what is the best way to override print functionality in DNN. I'm using DNN 4.8 and what I want to do is the following: when user clicks on a Print icon (action_print) - by default it opens a new window; instead I want to catch this event in code behind and do another operation, say, redirect user to some custom page

Thank you in advance!

I do not believe there is a way to hook into that action button. (not 100%)

Depending on how much control over you have the site and module - You can add an action item that says "Print" and hide the print option from the modules container.

Thank you for your response!

In fact, I just want to know how I can catch the print event going from any page in code behind - I realize this functionality should exist. I can add my action item, but I'm not sure I know exactly what do you mean - can you please elaborate? If it would be an option to hide / show this new functionality from wihtin DNN setting (when I login as admin / host) on each page like I can do now with built-in printing functionality - it will work for me

Thank you

you may replace the skin object by your own, like being done by free templatePrint Skin object from dnnjungle.vmasanas.net.
