I have sets of data on my site that is regularly changing (e.g., the number of people who have graduated through a certain program).  This number (and several others) appears in many places and I wanted to find a way to replace it with a parameter (e.g., #graduates#) that can be replaced at the time the page is compiled.  Is this possible to do?  If so, where would I begin?

Simply pointing me in the right direction would be a great help!

Lars,

Where does the data come from?  A database? file?

There are numerous ways to go about it.  If you have some development experience your best bet would be to create a small module (or skin object) that would pull the data from the appropriate place and then display it on the page.

Check out Michael Washingtons tutorials for creating a module. @ http://adefwebserver.com/
