just wanted to ask whether anyone has replicated this kind of scenerio or has plans to do this, have multiple dnn sites hosted through one url e.g.

www.mysite.com/

with portals on different DNN's?

DNN Child portals allow you to use 1 URL to host multiple sites.

www.mysite.com
www.mysite.com/Site2

and other ones.

That is done all the time, if you are tlaking about something else, we will need more clarification.

 Hi Mitch

Yes I'm talking about something else, we have a main portal with over 200 portals and 200,000 users in different continents using one portal, the environment has slowed down quite considerably over time. We would ideally want to move into an environment where we can host 3 main portals and spread out the child portals on different instances. So ideally we have 3 main portals with 80 child portals on each, they all live under one url and separated by the child portal so an example of www.mysite.com/acme will be hosted on a child portal under portal instance A and www.mysite.com/customerportal is a child portal under portal instance 2. They all are still using the main url and are distributed throughout different instances. Hopefully that explains what i want to achieve correctly. Is it possible to have this kind of environment within DNN?

Thanks

Yes.  It's called a web farm.

Hi Jeff,

Could you be a bit more specific please, I know what a webfarm is. We have a webfarm but how would the two/three URL's work in a webfarm environment as each dnn has its own URL, we would like one URL with the child portals spread across each instance.

Thanks
