How can I disable this huge ScriptResource.axd from loading?

I can not find it in settings or in default.aspx....Where is it?

And what about AJAX? In earlier versions it was possible to turn it off, but not in 5.1.4?

If I recall correctly the 5.x series of DNN requires that AJAX be enabled for the site to properly function.  ScriptResource.axd is actually something that serves multiple types of content depending on the mood, and disabling it is not something that can be easily done.

If you want to work on minifying items, you might look at PageBlaster by Snapsis.
