Hi all

I'm using DNN as a blog engine within a parent site - so all artice content will be published with blogging capabilities.

Can I control the way the URL will be set? I noticed that I can set a page hirerchy  such as: http://mydomain.com/cat1/subcat3/mypage.aspx

it's very awkward that if I create page mypage under the page subcat3.aspx under the page cat1.aspx it will create a url almost similiar - but not was I'm looking for because I cannot create more pages in those directories.

I'll appreciate any advice

Thanks

Why dont you use url rewrite with a server side redirect.

edav : I don't quite follow your request closely, but you do have control over the tab paths in your site.  If you have the human friendly url option switched on, then you will get basic urls as you describe.  You control the page Url by carefully choosing your page hierarchy and page names.

You will always have to check for duplicates within your page naming structure if dealing with subdirectories - there's nothing much you can do about that because the final path is only known at 'runtime'.  But this shouldn't be a problem if you plan out your pages and check as you go along.
