Hi, I have a DNN-portal with a couple of child portals. The problem I have is that when I type the address: www.mydomein.be/childportal in the webbrowser, I get a http 404 error. I need to type in http://www.mydomain.be/mychildportal/home.aspx to access the childportal. What do I need to do to resolve the addres www.mydomain.be/mychildportal

Is this something I need to configure in the portal aliasas settings or the Friendly Url Settings?

Thanks for your help,

Anthony Candaele

make sure, there  has been a folder created with subportal name and a default.aspx file inside.

Also make sure, default.aspx is listed as default document in IIS web site configuration.

Hi Sebastian,

I created a  folder named 'oscw'  in my dnn-installation folder. In that folder I created a Default.aspx page. When browse to www.pswx.ugent.be/oscw

I get the empty default.aspx page. Should I also add an alias to the portal settings?

Anthony,

delete the child portal and folder and re-add the child portal. this should create folder with childportal name and default.aspx automatically. Otherwise ASP.Net account is missing file system permission to create a folder.
