Could be a really simple thing that I'm missing, but how do I (or what module do I use to) display data from an Excel spreadsheet or comma-delimited file.  I just want users to be able to view and sort the data on a DNN page.

Thanks much,
Michael

I am not aware of a module out there that does this at the moment, but it should be a very simple module to build.

If you are interested in getting a module built to do this, please feel free to drop me an e-mail (msellers@iowacomputergurus.com)

Michael,

Excel spreadsheets can be read by the old MS Jet engine, so if you can define the connection string to the spreadsheet, most SQL display utilities can display the data.  See www.connectionstrings.com to detemine how to create the connection string.  For example:

   Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\MyExcel.xls;Extended Properties="Excel 8.0;HDR=Yes;IMEX=1";

To display the data, use one of the SQL display tools such as the DNN Reports module or DNNStuffs SQLView or try SQLGridSelectedView at www.tressleworks.ca (shameless plug)

Paul.
