I am reading through the configuration requirements for Configuration B: Laptop or Desktop Computer with a Remote SQL Server, which specifies that you have SQL Server 2005/2008. What if you only have SQL Server 2000? Is there a configuration setting for dotnetnuke for this version of SQL?

If you are installing DNN 5.1.4 or earlier you can use SQL 2000 just like if you were using 2005/2008.

Starting with DNN 5.2 though SQL 2005/2008 is required and 2000 is no longer supported.

Thanks, thats good to know. I guess at somepoint we will need to upgrade to 2005 or 2008.

The community edition download of dotnetnuke is 5.1.4, so this should work with SQL Server 2000, correct?

Yes, right now the most current "release" is 5.1.4 though 5.2 is coming soon
