I'm having trouble on 5.1.  Basically I'm running the Forum Module and that requires me to install a language pack in order that users see dates formatted in European format - dd/mm/yyyy.  So, I've set all this up and it works.  However, when users register I cannot get their Preferred Locale to default to a value other than en-US.  I've tried making it 'Required' to see if that would get the default value working, but no.  Users have to register and login to post to the Forums.  So, I'm stuck.

Is there anything I can do?
