hey Paul, Hey carlos,

thanks for your replies.

I will explain my problems  exactly:

I have DNN492 and SQL-Server 2008. user a is logging in into my portal, then he wants to have some data of the DB. I check his PortalID and UserID and execute an Stored Procedure on the DB and get back all entrys, wich he is allowed to see.
This stored prcedure is looking on wery big tables(about nearly 1mio Entrys) so this Stored Procedure takes much time to be executed.
I will now show the logged in user his data in an gridview(bind datasource). The user now wants to edit the data. THis edit is only available in an other module. So I have to use the modulecommunication to give the data to the oder module(but this is not possible because of it is not possible to read out the data in an paged Gridview). So I have to execute the stored procedure a second time to get the data. At the first execution I could save the data into an global variable or something(like session). It is important that the data(global variable) will be deleted if the user logged off. I tried it with session variables but they are about 20min allive and If the user loggs of and logging in with an other username the variable has the same data.

I hope I could explain it a little bit better now.

thanks for your help!

best regards,

marc
