I've created a site and have been testing it in different browsers.  All work fine apart from Safari.  It sometimes only manages to load the bg images or it loads everything without css.  Different every time.

Because Safari, and Google Chrome, are built with a web browser engine that interprets some HTML and CSS differently.  You'll need to learn the differences and work around them.

...yeh i know that.  My problem isn't a html or css browser compatability issue.  If it manages to load the page in chrome and safari, everything looks fine.  The live site (is slightly different from the test site) loads fine in both browsers.

It seems that when i'm testing as localhost it has issues loading the page.  Wondered if anyone has had the same thing happen?  It might be due to some recent additions to the site.  I changed it to use transitional xhtml in the doc type and have added the ajaxcontroltoolkit dll.

Again this isn't happening all the time, but i can't seem to find any pattern.  Just that it only happens in webkit based browsers.  It loads the content find everytime, but the css often only partially loads or not at all.  Sometimes images won't load. Every time i refresh the page it's something else that can't load.  Then every once in a while it manages the whole thing and the page looks as it should.

What issues?  What version of IIS?  What differences from the deployed site?  What parts have problems?

The css often doesn't load or only partially loads.  The deployed site does not have this same problem.  The whole of every page has this problem when viewed in Chrome or Safari.

The only difference between the two sites are the following:

1. One is on a dedicated Windows Server 2008 machine, and the other is on my workstation.

2. The test site has been forced to use transitional xhtml, the deployed site uses the dnn default.

3. The test site has the AjaxControlToolkit in the bin

It's almost like my local iis can't load all the resources fast enough, but as it works fine in ie or ff i guess it's not that.

Just tried it in Chrome and Safari and it works fine.  Yesterday however it was running like a dead dog.  Will test it again after Christmas.  I just want to be sure that it will work on the live server.  Guess i might have to just move it over and test it out.
