The "Page State Persistence" option no longer appears under on my Host Settings page (under the "advanced Settings" > "Performance settings" section of the page). My portal is on DNN core v5.1.1

I am mystified as to the disappearance of the "Page State Persistence" option. Any ideas on where I should start trouble shooting this? I see that the view state is however appearing on pages in my portal.

I believe that this was removed by design, as there is an inherit performace detriment, if not an overall collapse of site functionality with any option other than Page.

I personally have NEVER recommended any setting other than page.

Mitchel,

The peculiar thing is that I am not seeing the "Page State persistance" option in my 5.1.1 install. However in another v5.1.4 install I have the "Page State persistance" option is clearly visible under Host settings. So was it withdrawn in v5.1.1 and then reintroudced in v5.1.4?

FYI it was removed in an older version due to some issues (it conflicts with some custom ajax versions such as that from component one) - we added it back in (with a labelled warning) as some users do need to set the values and had to resort to direct database updates which was not optimal. To see it again I recommend you upgrade.
