Hi,

I've installed DNN 4.9.4 on a GoDaddy shared hosting account and I've setup 3 portals. Everything has been working fine, up to a few weeks ago. The smtp server that GoDaddy tells you to use is relay-hosting.secureserver.net with anonymous authentication. That worked fine, until their spam and fishing filter started blocking every email that comes from any of the 3 portals. I now get this error message when I try to test the smtp settings: There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is: Transaction failed. The server response was: The message was rejected because it contains prohibited virus or spam content

I've tried to use a third party smtp server like Google, but unfortunately GoDaddy does not support a third party smtp server.

After spending lots of time on the phone and emailing, they told me that it's the scripting that is used in DNN that causing the issue. They have send me this article to review and implement into my DNN installation: http://help.godaddy.com/article/512?

Now my question is: Is this possible? And if so, how can I implement this exaclty?

If there is another way to fix this issue, I'll be happy to try it.

I've seen a lot of people having issues with setting up their smtp settings, but all the solutions that worked for them are not working for me..

I hope someone can help!

Personally, my recommendation is to get away from GoDaddy.  The solution they posted for you is NOT possible to implement, and is entirely un-necessary.
