  1. SMTP Server Setting - "There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is:There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP Server. Mail was not sent. (I have tried 05.02.1 on Windows XP PC SMTP functioning very well.)
  2. When ever user want to loing they type in this format "DomainName\UserID" instead the user wants to login only by thier "UserID" without including domain name.

Thanks for your support in advance.

1)  You must configure your SMTP settings to match those of your SMTP server.  Talk to your email administrator to find the appropriate settings.

2)  If you use Windows authentication and the server is not in the same domain as the user, then you have to enter the domain.

Hi Rozmi,

Not sure if you got an answer or not but I got the same error, and had to set up the smtp server with a format of server:port

  • SMTP Server and Port:  mail.mysmtpserver.com:26
  • SMTP Auth:  Basic

I hope that I understood your question and this helps.  I'm very new to DNN, so apologize if I misunderstood.

Rich
