Hi,

I've been working my way through the wrox professional dotNetNuke book.

I've lost my login fields, which I used to get to by clicking on login on the home page, I read the following from wrox:

"The second scenario is to be used on a login page, which could contain additional modules. You

can specify any page within your portal as the login page via the administration screens located

at Admin>Site Settings>Advanced Setting>Page Management."

All i did was change the location to 'home' thinking that my login fields would now appear on the homepage, but they dont, and when i try as before and click on the login button, they're not there either. So now I have no way of doing anything to my site as i cant login.

I would be REALLY grateful if someone could help me sort this out.

Thanks

Timbo

Can you try adding ctl=login to your querystring?

eg.

http://yoursite.com/default.aspx?ctl=login

That should give you a login link.  Hopefully you can then fix your problem.

Hi there - I'm having the same issue - I accidentally chose "home page" as my login page - and now I can't login to fix it.  Adding "?ctl=login" to the query string doesn't help.  I've searched this topic, and found the suggestion to "Go into your database and find the "portals" table, and locate the row of the portal you messed up. Look for LoginTabID or something similar and press ctrl+0 to enter a null into that field. recycle the app or wait for your app to recycle and you're ready to go again!"  But, I can't for the life of me find LogTabID or anything similar in the Portals.css - even if I did, I'm not sure I'd know what to change!  Please help...
