I am using DNN 5.2.3 CE on Server 2008 R2 Std with SQL Server 2008 Std x64. On three out of four, I am using forms authentication with Active Directory authentication enabled and DNN Default Authentication disabled. The 4th uses the DNN authentication provider. I have a total of three domain accounts set up as host users - enabled manually, of course. I have 4 portals, each running as a parent portal - not as child portals.
I added the latest portal about three of 4 days ago. I set it to use AD authentication, tested to ensure that AD authentication worked, and disabled DNN authentication using my AD account. In Pages, I disabled the Admin and Host menus by deselecting "Show in Menu." I've used this technique on multiple hosting sites and have really become accustomed to it. It prevents the root menus from changing post-login and having to write two sets of CSS rules for the menus.
I then went about working on the skin for my new site. After getting the skin complete, I went to set it as the default skin by clicking on site and setting it as the default skin. I then needed to check a few Administrative options - like Google Analytics. So, I clicked the Admin link in the Control Panel and *bam* got an error message stating "Page Disabled This page has been disabled and is only visible by users with Edit Permission for the page." This works on the other 2 AD enabled portals. I have tried manually adding my user to the Edit permissions for the page, but still get the same error message.
The other interesting thing I noticed is that my AD users does not appear as a portal user on this new portal. I do show up as a portal user on the other two portals. My guess is that the 2 are not unrelated issues.
