Not sure if anybody has seen anything similar but I am have having difficulties with a users not seeing "bits of the page" once they have logged in.

I have some pages that are only visible to registered users with a particular role however a strange behaviour occurs when someone logs in.  Whilst Title text is still visible, module content is not being displayed even though the view attribute is correctly set to "Registered Users". Even more strange is the fact that those pages which had previously been viewed ok are also now not showing module content, even those those which are "Publically" viewable to all users.

Admin user is ok.  I have tried registering a new user and have given them the correct roles to view the pages / modules as required.  The first time a new user logs in all is fine, the module content is being displayed along with the headers as expected. However logout, and log back in again and the module content disappears! Pages with restricted access are still displayed and visible within the menu.

The disappearing module content seems to effect all modules and is not limited to a particular type.

Any thoughts?  Is something, somewhere misconfigured? It works fine with admin and one or two other users, and there would appear to be no difference in how the users are configured?  Running 4.09.04.

A couple questions.. What are the security settings on the individual pages these pieces of content are on? If the page is restricted and the module is inheriting from the page it could cause it to not showup. Also, could it be a cache issue? Are you on a webfarm?

Update: I have found that specifying a little bit of cache time in the module content settings/Page settings goes a long way! The module content is now appearing?? However, some module content does not allow you to set a cache time; e.g. Event list so it is only a partial fix. Incidently, for the events module, text in the header and footer as set within advanced settings for the event module are being displayed, but still not the content itself (and is not present in the HTML). Same can be said of the Account Login Module but here I see the Manage User Credentials, Manage password, and Manage Profile "buttons" but not the data fields themselves and strangley the Authorize user, Unauthorize user, Unlock account, and force password change options which normally are only seen if an administrator. Also, a page which contains the Active Forums module generates an error when some cache is added. !!!!

Thanks for responding Nicky.

The modules are set up to inherit from the page but the page is set up to allow the user access (via role).  The strange thing is that Module Titles, headers and footers are being displayed but not the "body" of the module.

Dont think I am on a web farm but have set a little cache and this has helped although problem is that some modules dont seem to allow for a cache to be set, e.g. Events module, and also getting an error on a page containing forums when cache turned on (see recent update post for further details). Error not very helpful.  Just says "an error has  occurred" twice - and nothing visible in events log.

Upgraded to 5.02.03. Content does now seem to be appearing apart from the "User Account" details, so user unable to make changes to their profile. Strange thing also is that I now have the bar at the top of the page which displays the Content and Preview checkboxes for all users, which doesn't seem to do anything but clearly shouldn't be there. Also, I get the following two exceptions in the event log. DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider, DotNetNuke.SqlDataProvider. Access to the path '\Cache\Modules\' is denied and Method not found: 'System.Collections.Hashtable DotNetNuke.Services.Authentication.AuthenticationConfigBase.get_ModuleSettings()'. Also, another "interesting" feature is if I do a bulk email to users of a particular role I now only get an email sent to the first one. Not sure if these belong to the same "family" and related to original problem or whether this has spawned 3 or 4 parallel threads! Does this strike a cord with anyone?
