Hi All,
We are implementing DNN as the platform for some large public forum sites to be rolled out next week:
www.NET10Forum.com
www.StraightTalkwirelessforum.com
www.TracFoneForum.com
Now onto my issue. We have setup word filters for the forums module. But it seems to only apply when processing the OUTPUT from the forums. When you use the site search at the top, the search results shows the bad words unmasked....because the filter only works within the forums module.
Hopefully you can see how bad this could be in large public sites.
What I am interested in doing, is modifying the DNN core to implement the word filtering mechanism on a global basis for all portals in our hosts cleaning data before it ever gets into the databases.
This means that ANY data input would be filtered. As an example, when a user registers....we wouldn't want the registrant using "cunt breath" as a user or screen name.
Has anyone already done global word filtering? If not, we will write it ourselves for our purposes.
If we do, would there be any interest from the community in this global filtering capability? Maybe as an add-in module?
If someone has already done this, we would certainly be interested in purchasing IMMEDIATELY! We have to roll these 3 sites out into production next week and don't want to have dumb a**es tarnishing our brands!
Any thoughts?
