I am having a problem with users logging into the portals.

Generally I have to log in twice to get logged in.  If I log in with proper information I get sent to the home page the first time but I am not logged in, only after a second attempt do I get logged on when this occurs.  It does not happen everytime but more than not.

I am sending logged in users to the home page but not always getting logged in.

On top of that the website has never "Remembered Me"

Anyone have a clue what can be causing these issues?

Thank you in advance!

What version of DNN are you having this problem with? Have you made any recent changes or customizations to the platform?

As for the "remember me" feature, you may check on the persistent cookie timeout setting in the web.config file, it is likely set to Zero, increase that to make logins stay around longer. I believe it is a setting stored in seconds, I usually put in something like 1000000

Version 5.2.3 I have been running it for a while but not sure if it has been since the beta release. Half the time I have to double log in. Other half I dont. What it does is successfully takes the log in information, redirects me to the home page but it does not show me logged in and I have to log in one more time and I am in. Also another user behind a hardened firewall at work cannot log in at all. He can view the site only. I set the persistantcookie value thanks for the info I figured it was something to do with a cookie configuration. I didnt see a way to set this in the admin panel.

I just had to retype this reply after hitting submit lost it... Anyhow: Using 5.2.3 upgraded from previos versions, but I dont believe it was from beta. I generally have to double log in as it accepts my information half the time but does not log me in. Usually it will send me to my home page but I cant access my account and it still says to log in. Second time for me always works. This is not consistant. I set the persistant cookie setting, are there any other settings I should consider setting to ensure people can log in normally. Also a user cannot log in at all from work. They can view the website but cant register or log in. just shows up redirecting them to the home page. He has he is behind a good firewall and may be the issue but what would stop him if he can view the website from logging in. Thank you

I just had to log in 3 times on my site to get it to log in and show admin options.

I have looked at the event viewer and seen it showed successfull login all three times but the website does not show me as logged in.

I set the persistant cookies setting I will see how that works next.

Is your website having issues?  i have had a tough time posting here and the site is showing up all messed up on my end a lot with everything in wrong spots like its only being half parsed.

Thank you.
