DNN is installed on a Windows XP Pro machine.  As localhost, I can navigate through the site easily.  From a different machine, I'm attempting to use the IP address and Virtual Directory.

Example:  http://172.24.250.250/dnn

It isn't working from remote machines.  It just gives me a page not found message.  I don't know where my issue is.  Any thoughts?

Patrick you need to add the IP address as a Portal Alias for this to work. The page not found errors are occurring because DNN is trying to redirect those outside requests to the only portal alias you have listed, and those other machines don't have a website running at localhost.

You can add an alias when logged in as a superuser account and go to the Admin/Site Settings page.

Hi there, I have a similar issue. I installed to a local IP address 192.168.0.2 and everything works fine on the LAN but when I try and connect remotely from another network it starts to load on the www address then redirects to the 192.168.0.2 address. I have added the full url to the portal alias section but it still redirects?

Any ideas?
