Hi, I have a DNN 4.0 website set-up and working, but the automatic SMTP e-mail is not working.

Every time I enter my Ip address or domain name in - it says - failure sending mail.

I've tested my mailserver, which is working correctly.

What am I doing wrong?

At the moment I am developing a DNN module, which it has a functionality to send an automatic email to its visitor come a long with an attachment. For sending a flat email (without attachment) or an email with an small size of attachment (< 2 MB), it works perfectly, but then when I try to send an email with attachment bigger than 2 MB, the email looks like it has been sent, since there is no error message, but I do not get the email, since I test it by sending the email to myself. Is there anyone would know what is wrong with my system ?

And there is no limitation on size for attachment on our SMTP server setting. Since I can send any big size of attacments to any email addresses by using my outlook.

Regards,

  • did you try SMTP test in Host Settings?
  • does the admin user specified in Site Settings has a valid email address?
  • did you test sending mails using the newsletter module?
