Hi,

to insert the "Sitemap: http://www.xyz.com/portals/xyz/sitemap.apsx" (a relative url like /sitemap.aspx is not allowed, afaik) info to the robots.txt for every portal of an installation, individual robot.txt files per portal would be required. Is this doable with DNN? I guess it would be possible to make the robots.txt execute as an aspx by IIS and the return whatever necessary, but that looks like too much effort for a possibly minor enhancement like getting the "Sitemap" directive configured.

Best Regards
Tim

You need to understand what the robots.txt file is and does.  It has to be in the root of a site and the robots that use it won't be accessing the Default.aspx file in DNN that handles redirection to portals.  Thus, robots.txt and the robots don't understand the concept of a portal.  You could probably use a non-ASP.NET rewrite to direct to the appropriate robots.txt based on the request header.  If you're on IIS 7 take a look at the IIS 7 URL Rewrite module from www.iis.net.
