Hello,

When we change of country fr.example.com to in.example.com we lost the session due to the sub domain in DNN.

Is there any way to switch between subdomain without login and keep the session ?

Anybody know the solution please let me know or atleast give some idea.

Thanks in advance

Sandeep

If you're referring to portals, look for third party modules that allow this.  If you really are using domains and an AD authentication, look at domain trusts for help.

Hi Jeff,

Actually I have only one portal thats is Portal 0 (for example) and for the same portal I have multiple portal alias name like "localhost/dnn522", <someip>/dnn522, so when I logged in as a user in localhost/dnn522 and directly change the URL from localhost/dnn522 to <someip>/dnn522, then the user get logget out. I dont want the user get logget out when I change the URL from localhost/dnn522 to <someip>/dnn522.

Please let me know how can I do this ?

Thanks and Regards

Sandeep

DNN is always using a cookie for membership, which is bound to a single domain address,. you need to create a redirect to a single address (IP or domain name) to achieve cookie being applied regardless of the site address used to call the site. on a single portal installation, the simpliest is removing additional portal aliases (starting with localhost), and DNN will automatically redirect to the existing address (make sure to keep addresses in IIS web site configuration).

Thanks Sebastian for your quick response.

One more thing on our server we have domain like example.com and on the basis of the country the domain will redirect to fr.example.com or in.example.com or us.example.com so when we change the country from fr.example.com to in.example.com or us.example.com we lost the session due to the sub domain in DNN.

FYI, fr.example.com, us.example.com, in.example.com are the portal alias of a single portal (Portal 0).

Is there any way to switch between subdomain without login and keep the session ?

Thanks and Regards

Sandeep
