We have a couple pages that are SSL. On these pages we get the browser warning message about mixed content.

The cause it a url we add to the site copyright field for SEO purposes creating a link on all pages. The link goes to an external site. http://sitexyz.com

Does anyone know of a way to fix this? Is there a module or setting that can switch the url depending on the page security?

Any ideas are welcome.

Are you sure it is that extra link that is the problem and not a resource that is used on the page somewhere (like the jquery files?)

Ah, you are right, it is not that link. I removed it and the problem remains. My first search for http: in the page source came up with that link. It is basically a blank test page with one blank html container. There is a java code for get flash player from the skin. Probable cause? What type of code should I be looking for?

A quick way is to answer "yes" to the browser warning and only have it show the secure items. You can then look for the missinf (red x) items to see if it involves an image or something that is user-facing.

Good tip Eric, I have confirmed it is in the skin. When selecting yes, the page looks normal. Would this look like a suspected culprit:
