5.2.1  Private Security.  When a user updates they get a messaeg saying the update happened.  I want to send amessaeg to an "admin" email address with the Tokens of the profiel, so an offline DB can be updated by staff.

I have looked for the "user_update" .txt message mentioned in the DNN manuals, but cannot find it in the host, admin or hosting file structure.

Can anyone tellme where to look, generically, for the file?

OR, does anyone have a suggestion for an elegant way to do this otherwise?

OR, a 3rd party module I can buy, install and cinfigure to do this?

Thanks, Scott

msg_user_update.txt is a key in a resource file, not a text file. go to Languages in Admin menu, in the language editor of 5.2, switch to portal scope, and in default file, scroll down to this key and edit the content of the message. DNN 5.2 is able to support HTML (which has been broken in 5.3).

DNN 5.3.1 introduces messaging, where users may send messages to each other.

Sebastian,

Thanks for reply.  I was able to edit that to my exact needs.  Now, I am trying to find a way for the email to go to the admin (or another one I might specify) email for the offline purposes which drive this for my "customer."  I tried embedding an 'a href 'clause in the resource key snippet, but all it does is affect the email body, not actually send an email to the admin.  I went to Event Viewer and tried adding it in the 'To' address for the User Update event, but I don't get that email, only the one showing my 'user' (i.e. non admin) test profile is updated;  admin doesn't get the msg.

Any thoughts??'

Addresses of system messages cannot be modified without tweaking core framework code. Notification of scheduler items didn't work in a couple of versions, being fixed in 5.3.0 AFAIR. If you have additional requirements, you may use 3rd party registration solutions e.g. from DataSprings or UCanUse.
