Hi all:

I'm not quite sure if this is the place to post my question about seach token.  Please direct me the correct place if I'm in wrong forum.  In my DotNetNuke site it seems that the search token can't search for most of the abbreviations.  For instant, it returns no result for "AP" while this is in one of the pages.  It works fine for other "regular" words but the abbreviations.  Does anyone have the similar problem and what your solutions are?  Any advices are appreciated.

- Andy

go to Search administration in Host Settings and specify an appropriate min length. Note that any word in "common words" table will not be indexes, even in different language or capitalization.

Thanks for your quick response, Leupold.  I tried to set minimal length of a word to 2 and re-index the keyword, but it did not work.  The search function works fine for "regular" words, but not the abbreviations.  Thanks again and other suggestions are much appreciated.

We've run into the same issue before. Even if it's a longer abbreviation. CRHP on a church site (christ renews his parish) comes up with nothing. DNN search, to put it bluntly, sucks. It's something that I think everyone knows but no one has done anything about. Hopefully since they are adding more paid employees some focus can be turned on improving the search, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
