We have the same problem on fresh 5.6.2 Professional edition...what a shame.

Thanks,
George

We actually worked out what is going on. In our case, it related to a child portal that was created with these late versions, that had multiple languages. We found that when we added the logo, it was only adding it one database reference for one language, and the default language was not getting the path added to the database for the logo image.

The solution for us was to manually add the reference to the database table. We did not bother to look at the source code and fix it, as the database fix takes seconds.

Hope this helps people.

Still think this is not a good version to finish a release on, as it is still very buggy. Shame really, as it gives me about as much confidence in the 6x release as I have in a Microsoft Post PC Tablet being a success!

 I second that.

The issue seems to be that changes to the logo src in Admin->Portal settings do not persist after saving the changes. There should still be a 5.6.3 that does away with some really nasty issues.

Where in the db is the logo source stored? I went through dboPortalSettings but found no entry for the logo. dboPortals seems to have no column for that neither. I'd change it in the database awaiting a bug release, if I could just find out how it is stored.

We found our solution in teh PortalLocalization table, that has a localization value for each log.

The field: PortalID and CultureCode.

We added the logo file correct reference for all the languages in use. That fixed the issue for that child portal. Interesting it was only for child portals created on this late release. Previously created portals were fine.

(There goes another few hours of my life to junk code... still usually it's Microsoft sucking my life. Nice to have a change!)

This one is really nasty.

Thank you David for pointing me to the correct table.I did not check this table because I do not use core localization. My mistake.

What I found was a table in disarray.Portals are listed several times with different culture codes: en-US, en, km, km-KH, km-KL (KL? where does that come from?), language, zpeiwspgdq, mnykmfrvln, en-US?skin, km-KHhttp: etcetera...

DSL does not touch the Localization table. It has its own table to store localized values and it replaces them on the page before rendering the page. This must come from the core, I think. Others who use core localization seem to have the same issues.

At one upgrade, all portals lost their logo setting. I put it back on the university portal and its child portal, but not on the host portal, because I wanted to use that in staff training. No I notice one can no longer change the logo file in Portal Settings.
