Hello,

I've been using DNN for some time and I have a bug that keeps on coming up and becomes worse and worse the more my site gets used.

The problem is this:  w3wp.exe  will freeze up and I will get the standard "application not available" error message.   My website will crash ALL  the time, sometimes 10 times in a row and I have not the remotest idea why.  My DNN setup gets about 300,000-500,000 pageviews a day and has over four thousand parent portals.   CPU is not an issue as well as having about 4 gigs physical 8 gig virtual memory free.

I have a pretty standard DNN 3.1 install.

Any ideas?

This is a drastic problem so I am willing to pay a few hundred (via paypal) to whoever helps resolve the problem.

I can be reached at  timgt (at) hotmail (dot)  com  and MSN chatted with at that address as well.

Thanks!

EDIT - My application log in Event Viewer shows this:

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.1830, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.1830, fault address 0x00015dea.

Does that help at all?  :)

This is becoming a dire problem so I am really hoping somebody is much brighter than I am with this!

Tim,

One suggestion is an upgrade to DNN 3.2.2, as I remember, that some huge performance leaks were eliminated.

That sounds like it could be a good idea!!!

3.2.2 -  Is there somewhere that lists the specific files that happened to have been changed?  It would be drastically easier for me if I could just plop in the new, patched files : )

Thanks : )

Hey Tim, you'll need to let DNN do the standard upgrade process so that table and sproc updates get done.
Don't do anything without a couple good backups!
Good luck, my friend.

Oh yea, what was I thinking :)  I guess I wanted to magically upgrade without any conflicts.  Oh the woes :)

How are you doing?

I'm still trying to pull things back together so I can pile up the cash and hopefully send it back you way.  Hah !!

I'm sure we'll be chatting soon again :)
