Is there a way with DNN to flag new items added to a portal?  For example, I add a new link...the link says "NEW" next to it for three days and then goes away.

This can't currently be done without core edits - i suggest you add an enhancement request to support.dotnetnuke.com

the general problem with this requirement is that DNN has no central information about all content. Every module provides its own items and only search interface is provided as a central information store - unfortunately with a number of limitations (missing support for localization, inefficient due to full indexing on every run, no support for item permissions, no control where being used, not supported by all modules, ...). There are a number of other CMS, which are content orientated, and there might even be 3rd party extensions for DNN providing CMS functionality.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold
