Hi All,
I've seen a few threads related to this topic and tried all of the offered solutions but I can't seem to change the background color of the RadEditor content area to white. My skin has a body style set to black. Here's what I've tried thus far:

First I tried adding ~/Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Telerik/EditorCustom.css to ConfigDefault.xml.  EditorCustom.css contained body{background-color:#ffffff;}. This worked great but after I upgraded DNN, ConfigDefault.xml was overridden.

Next I tried modifying the declaration in web.config to reference a custom ConfigDefault.xml file (CustomConfigDefualt.xml). This custom file has a CssFiles property declared just like above pointing to the custom css file. Everything was fine with this as well but after upgrading DNN, the declaration in web.config was overridden and the original ConfigDefualt.xml was referenced again.

I also tried adding #body{} to the skin css file with a white bg since DNN adds this id to the body tag - but that didn't work either.

Does anyone have an idea how I can change the content area of the RadEditor that will carry over after upgrading DNN?

Thanks.

One workaround I use - however it's only good for simple, solid color, background: just make a small gif file of the color, then upload it under the Admin > Site Details > Appearance > Body Background  section. As far as more complex background (gradients, images, etc) I too would like to know a work around for this, as it really throws some of my users off as well while they're editing their pages.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Try this

add

 body,html{background-color:#fff;text-align:left;}

to
/Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Telerik/EditorOverride.css

This will ensure a white BG inside the editor.
It also cause the skins BG to go white but only when the telerik editor is open.

TBH: I do not see how this basic and VERY annoying problem was ever unleashed on us.

Thanks Ian. Do you know if EditorOverride.css will get over-written during a DNN upgrade or will any chenges be sustained?
