Hi there,

Thanks to the help of this forum, I got the installation working 4 DotNetNuke........but now I have to Configure Database Connection.
My ISP has MYSql-5.

How can I configure the Database connection??

Or is SQL-Express, SQL  SERVER the only 2 options ???

Please help .

In order to use mysql you will need to get the my-sql dataprovider, which isn't included with DNN itself. It looks like these guys have one, but not for DNN5

This is just my personal opinion, but I'm sure it will offend someone.

I would stick with running DotNetNuke on Microsoft SQL Server, 2005 or 2008. You can try to use SQL Express as well, but I don't recommend it based on my past experience with configuration issues. As for mysql and oracle providers for DNN, they are out there as well, but they have their own hangups (check out a blog post I wrote a few years ago on Oracle and DNN for more insight into my thoughts)

Hi again !!

So in other words.........I am a little screwed? LOL

I guess I'll have to wait until 2morrow and upgrade my package with SQL Server.

Greetz,
Mark

If your host doesn't have SQL support on your current package, and only MYSQL, yeah, it sounds like you might be :(
