why is dnn so slow? don't tell me my server is ill-equipped. dnn is slow wherever it is installed. when logging to ask if there are any iis settings to adjust to improve responsiveness i thought i was going to collect social security before the login page loaded. is anyone really using this platform for serious e-commerce? i would think that shopping cart abandonment is massive assuming that anyone waited long enough for the site to load....

One think is that the IIS as standard timed out a connection after 20Min. of the last task, this setting could be changed.  If you disabled the time out the site must not restart the website.

Other thinks that can caused are low memory on the web server and SQL server and other Hardware related thinks.

i think i may have jumped to conclusions.....my previous frustrations were misdirected....i did a tracert on my location and found that there was severe internet congestion in the ashland - nyc corrider of my grid....i notified my isp after which performance has vastly improved....i also followed some steps here:

the moral of the story is don't jump to conclusions and always check your internetwork status before throwing stones :-o
